Things SmartHome check in your house
IMPORTANT: Make sure all utilities are turned ON for a complete inspection. This includes electricity, water, and natural gas. Vacant homes often have the gas turned off.  You will want to double check with the real estate agent in charge to make sure this is taken care of in order to have the property fully inspected.  If the utilities are on then the water heater(s) and furnaces must have the gas valves turned to the ON position and the appliances operating.
For a complete inspection of occupied homes, please make sure access is available to the electrical panel board, water heaters, furnaces, heaters, attic ladders, garage scuttle hole doors, or half attic doors.  Furniture and other items should not limit access to these areas. Pets need to be secured and all occupants must be informed of the arrival of the inspector.
DISCLAIMER: SmartHome does not perform Wood Destroying Insect a.k.a. Termite Inspections, Stucco inspections and  does not inspect Pool Inspections, Septic/ Water Well inspections, water softeners and media 12 to 24 volts wiring. Inspector will not access the attic area which are screwed in tight shut. Inspector will not climb the roof over 6/12 pitch for the safety of the inspector depending on the weather and condition of the shingles and roof decking.
